Day 1: Arrival at Kigali

Arrival at Kigali International Airport, depending on your time of arrival, when time allows will take a city tour to Kigali Genocide memorial museum. Will also visit some of the shopping to make your desired shopping for the trip. Then, will have to check-in at your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Mid-range: Hotel Villa Portofino Kigali

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Breakfast, then will drive to Nyungwe south of Kigali to experience some of the Central African remnants. This is home to variety of wild species, and a primate hub with about 13 primate species recorded at the park. Nyungwe forest retains the best experience of watching chimpanzees in Rwanda. Reaching these hyped tropical mountains will take an afternoon canopy walk on a swinging suspension. This is a world class canopy walk which leaves wanting more of the swings and walks overhead loftier trees. Then will check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight

Mid-range: Chimpanzee Lodge

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and Transfer to Akagera NP

Breakfast, this morning you’re to track chimpanzee. There are various tracking trails at Nyungwe forest leads into the tea leaves contours, thick forests, and bamboos depending on the group assigned to track. Chimpanzees at Nyungwe are habituated and trackers have a chance for a close-up encounter. The track can last between 30 minutes to about 3 hours searching for apes into the deep of the forest. And finding them, you have a limit of one hour in their presence. After taking lunch will roll for a shorter forest walks. Can take the; Buhoro trail is a legendary trek through woods the shortest covering 2km.

Midrange: Akagera Game Lodge

Day 4: Game drive and Boat cruise

Breakfast, then, you will be ready to embark for a morning nature walks through the savannah, and swampy landscapes of Kagera along the Akagera River. Afterwards, will en-route for lunch and in the afternoon hours will take a boat cruiser on Lake Ihema watching crocodiles, hippos, several water birds like shoebill stork, kingfisher among others. Then will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Midrange: Akagera Game Lodge

Day 5: Transfer to Volcanos National Park

Breakfast, and embark on a cozy drive viewing many animals around the Akagera National Park, then will take a drive through Kigali and accelerate your drive northwards to Volcanos National Park. Along the drive, you will enjoy a rare scenic view of rolling landscapes, this continues rolls are based on to call Rwanda a land of a thousand hills. The drive will last for about 5 hours. With lunch en-route will reach the park by late afternoon hours. Check-in at your lodge, relax for dinner and overnight.

Midrange: Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge

Day 6: Trek gorillas

Breakfast, will drive to the starting point at Volcanos National Park at least 30 minutes prior to the trekking time. Be briefed about trekking, be grouped in 8 people to trek a single habituated gorilla family. With a lead of an armed ranger guide embark into the jungle for the day’s hunt, on a search for the gorillas. The hunt can last for 30 minutes to 4 hours walking into the rush, unmade path, sometimes moist and slippery grounds until you encounter the gentle giants in the deep. At the sight of the gorillas you have strictly one hour of watching and be entertained.

Today will take a drive to Lake Kivu western of Rwanda, its place to relax off after the long adventure experience across the country.

Midrange: Cormoran Lodge

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Kivu

Breakfast, today you’re to enjoy the beach life at Lake Kivu, will take a swim and a boat ride on the lake. It’s one of the few place to relax from after your long safari adventure experience at the lake. And as well will take a drive through the amazing Kivu town along the border to Congo’s border.

Midrange: Cormoran Lodge

Day 8: Drive back to Kigali

Breakfast, relax and afterwards will take a drive back to Kigali city, and reaching your drive will be able to drop you at Kigali International Airport for your next flight.
